Obtaining and Creating a New Build Environment

Determine which location on cinta0(x) you can install on without disturbing anyone else trying to do a build. Note that if someone has installed a version of their build on a machine, they will need to be connected ("mounted") to that same build to do an uninstall.

In the CD1 directory of each build exists a file who's name reflects the version of the build (i.e. "/drive1/421new/10220943.txt").  This file contains a list of all CD zip files which are in that build. Compare the file sizes of the compressed zip files on the web site with those within the file. Those files that are of different size are those that have been changed from the current snapshot of the build on cinta0(x) vs the new build. Those files must be downloaded from the web site and placed on the appropriate disk on cinta0(x).

Copy the files down, unzip them, and update the build/create the version file (i.e. "10220943.txt")

1) Unmount the current build disks a script file similar to the Example Script for Unmounting Disks

2) Modify the file "/etc/filesystems" to exclude the mounts from a previous build (if required)

3) From the web site "http://websbuild.raleigh.ibm.com/pvc2/PVC2Drivers.html" in the left frame, click WEA_R421 "MultiPlatform" link.

2) Click on the version you wish to download (i.e. "10220943").

3)
